An Act Respecting the Proposed Electoral District of Tantramar
His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
Definitions
1 The following definitions apply in this Act.
“Commission” means the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Commission established on July 15, 2022, under subsection 2(2) of the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Act. (Commission)
“electoral district #16” means the electoral district identified as “ED #16 - Tantramar” in the final report. (circonscription électorale no 16)
“electoral quotient” means electoral quotient as defined in the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Act. (quotient électoral)
“final report” means the final report of the Commission filed with the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly on March 12, 2023. (rapport final)
Extraordinary circumstances – electoral district #16
2 Despite subsection 11(6) of the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Act, under subsection 19(4) of that Act, the Commission may make amendments to the final report that result in a number of electors in electoral district #16 that deviates from the electoral quotient by more than 25%.
